M3 rims on a 330Ci and fender rolling

Had a question to bounce off of all of you.

Background:
I have an opportunity to purchase a set of the "hyper black" M3 rims 18x8 infront and 18x9 out back they are shod with 225/45zr18 (front) and 255/40zr18 in the rear. I went down and tried them on the car and fronts fit good but the bag stuck out from the fender well by about a 1/4" (approx) Pics below. With them out that far during hard cornering it will surely rub on the tire. [burnout]

Question:
Can the rear fenders be "professionally" rolled out that far, to cover the tires? The other kicker is I have repair work (may be bondo) on that right rear corner. So in a nut shell has anyone done this and had and recommendations? I am bouncing it off you guys before I talk to the body shop. [thumb] or [thumbd]

Aloha,
Ian

Wow, that sure is sticking out alot. you're running a little wider tire than me (255 vs my 225) but I'm way inside my fender. Are you running spacers too? Are those OEM, or aftermarket? (Sometimes aftermarkets don't 'fit' like OEMs). If you are running spacers - take em off.

I have similar M3 OEM rims, just 4 of the front 18x8 all around with 225/40 all around (so I can get some tire rotation, 18" performance tires are $$$). You can get a fender roll, but I think something else is going on?(255's just shouldn't be sticking out that much, I think) Does it stick out that much on both sides?? Maybe your rear right bumper panel is off a bit (You mentioned it needs some body molding, maybe it 'shifted' during whatever happened to it?

Section_8: That's a good point I had not tried the rims on both sides. These shiny baby's are fresh off an '03 M3. So they are OEM from BMW. Ans nope I am not running spacers.

The side that was damaged, (I was too close to a metal gate) and repaired by the auto body shop, is the side you see in the pictures. I have the sport package my 330 came with a set of m3 rims which are my daily driving set are 17x8 with 225/45zr17's and in the rear 17x8.5 with 245/40zr17's.

The ones I am looking at are 18x9 (in the rear) and are shod with the 255's. I think that the sticking out it is due to the offset and the fact that the M3's stock body work is a bit wider that the 330ci's and has no problem fitting.

And I know what you mean about tires being expensive I am currently replacing my pilot sports due to dry-rotting. Kuhmo's on the way... [rofl]

The 68M alloy wheels you have are 17x7.5 front and 17x8.5 rear. The Style 71s available from the factory on your 330Ci are 18x8 front and 18x8.5 rear. The 18x8 front is the same size as the factory option so you are OK there (you knew that). The rears you are looking at however are 0.5 inches wider than the factory option.

From these stats it looks like our wells are made to handle up to 8.5 inch wide rims holding 255s.

Even if you roll the metal out you would need at the least:
1. New plastic parts inside the well to fill in the space.
2. A different wider bumper to line up with the wider fenders.

Seems like an awful lot to modify just to get a set of available rims......Maybe I am just stating the obvious, so just take this as info.
