M5 engine swap for an E30

Has anyone tried to put an M5 engine in an E30?

Well you have a few engines, s62,m88,m30(M535i). I've really only heard of the M30 engine in an E30, but I'm sure someone has used the other M5 engines.

yeah that is what I want to know too...what m5 engine would be best to use? I have seen only two e30's with M5 engine, but not sure which ones. I thought it would be fun to see what is out there as far as conversion kits and the like.

Id go with a m50 swap because its pretty commen swap. Anythign like a m5 swap is going to almost be all custom.

some people, like myself, might be interested in it. you can only get so much power out of an M50 or 52.

but you are right, everything would be custom. check out where they mounted the brake cylinder.

An M5 swap would definitly be a lot of work. You'd have to be really serious about a job like that

Well I saw one done at a car show last year. The engine looked like crap. It needed to be cleaned badly. Actually the car looked like crap too. But anyway, I saw a 750 at the local craft shop (engine was blown) and it got me thinking. Thanks for the feed back
