Maintenance

I have a 330i that I bought with 24K miles a year ago. The maintenance light has never come on, the car drives great and I have now 50K in it. Is there any maintenance (other that oil) I need to consider. I mainly do highway miles so I know there is very little stress on the car but I thought by now I should be due for some sort of maintenance. Looking in the owners manual it just says go by the warning light on the dash.

Your thoughts?

BMW recommends flushing your coolant and brake fluid every 2 years. You need that for sure. You have to do the brake fluid as you don't want the old stuff ruining your expensive brake lines/ABS/calipers/hydraulics. BMW uses the very best quality parts but even they need special care. Also do the full Inspection 1 and 2 at a local trusted authorized independent BMW shop. Or the dealer if no other alternative exists. That will cost you more. The 1 and 2 @ 50K miles is a long list of things for sure. Includes oil, filter, air filter, interior carbon air filter and many inspections which can turn up other things. (brakes, seals, the list goes on and on). But if you want the car to last, do the maintenance. It's not cheap but your car will love you for it.

You can look up what all the 1 and 2 includes on BMWs website.

Yeah, and you should be changing your oil and oil filter AT LEAST every 12,000 - 15,000 miles. I would bring it in to your dealership ASAP, if I were you. :)

when you first start your car, the trip computer tells you how many more miles til your next oil change. You do it earlier than that don't you?

I used to change my Mobile 1 every 5,000 miles but, after doing some research, I now change it once a year at inspection time.(PA requires ins. on a yearly basis)
