I just got my oil changed and perhaps news of my cars death to be. I asked them to see if they saw where the oil leak was coming from These are pretty much the exact words my mechanic said,

"The oil leak is comeing from the pan gasket, head gasket, (and some other gasket forgot what he said), and every where in between. You have a steering rack leak, a tranny leak, and a rear differential leak. The only thing not leaking is brakes and coolant."

Im like uhh sweet. My buddy just got his 190 rebuilt because of a head gasket and it cost 2k. My whole damn car was 2k, plus 1k in brakes, and 800 in suspension. So Im looking at 3 options.

1. Run my car into the ground then laugh at it.
2. Try to fix everything for god knows how much (which I can't afford)
3. Try to get by until I can afford the m50 swap then fix the rack and diff.
4. Buy a new car and sell this one before it dies.

I kinda wanna sell my car and get a 91 with the plastic bumpers. I wanna do a m50 swap so the engine dosn't matter much either. I have a lot of other problems so selling this thing looks good right now. My exhaust is going out, mud flaps broken off, rust is forming, and it should get a new paintjob.

You guys have any idea how much it would cost to fix this POS? Or should I just sell it and be done with it.

A head gasket, oil pan gasket and the tranny leak can be fixed in a week of time. Rent an engine hoist and fix that stuff yourself. The steering rack leak might be something you'd want to let someone take care of. Or, just keep adding fluid, then get it fixed if you can.

What kind of condition is the body/paint? If it's in really good condition, i'd get an engine rebuild. How many miles does it have? If it has over 2k, i'd probably just get a new engine, but anything under i'd get a rebuild.

Im not mechanically inclined ehough to dissasemble my engine I don't think. The paint job sucks, 1/2 of the body is "touchup" paint. Theres a good amount of rust forming too. Engine has about 131,000 on it. Im going to do a m50 swap (with the help of my friends dad who knows everything about cars) so I don't see rebuilding the engine. (unless I can do it for $2.13)

Yeah I was going to fix the rust then get it repainted but If i have to overhaul the engine its just not worth it anymore. Any idea how much I could get for it? The rust is minor right now but If it is not fixed it will be a big problem. And imo it needs a paint job pretty soon. I really want a '91 too because they look to much secksier

If equate has no morals, what is to say he wouldn't rip any of you off if you sent him cash for a part?
Watch what you say equate, its always better to stay quiet and keep a good reputation, rather than advertise a poor one.

equate....... If you pay taxes then I would donate it to a charity and write off the Blue Book value of the car, fixing and/or selling a lemon are both bad ideas.

besides im really suspecting theres not all those leaks im going to have another more professional look at it. The only ones I know for sure is the oil pan gasket and possibly the tranny
