First of hi all! A newbie here. and I did indeed search about it here, but I couldn't find anything about it. So please bear with me.

So, here's the deal, in the other day, I found out that the side of my frontal bumper was scratched (or maybe chipped), so here's question, what material is used under the paint? (IE, metal or plastic) since if it's metal I have to get my car into paint shop and get my car repainted ASAP to avoid rust and such... but if it's plastic I don't need to panic like there's no tomorrow.

Just to make sure what and where the chipping is located, I'm inserting two pictures.

Thank you for your time!

PS. Does anyone know what might caused the damage?
Did I scratched my car against something or... like a stone that chipped the paint?

That part is plastic and is a fairly easy touch up. That is a scrathc, not a chip and was caused by something brushing up against the car or the car brushing up against something. By the way Welcome to the board [welcome]

Thank you for your quick reply and warm welcome.

Now, to the subject, Geez... :(
It sure sucks to be me right now...
Especially that I never noticed that I've scratched up my precious...
The only saving grace in this matter is that bumper wasn't metal,
since where I live, everything that is metal rusts just like that, with salt and all the jazz on the roads.
Oh well I guess I have to start saving some cash for the repair then.

hiei, welcome aboard man!!

you can just get the touch up paint and touch it up.
since its plastic, and also not in the most visible place,
i think you'll be ok. should save up money for bigger dings ^^;

after that, post the entire pic of your ride [thumb]
