About 2 seconds after I turn off my ignition, I hear a metallic rubbing noise, as if two pieces of metal are rubbing against each other.

I took it to the dealer but it just so happened that the noise didnt occur when I was there.

It seems to happen about 75% of the time I turn off my car.

Any advice ?

I have the same exact problem on my 03 330CI. I don't think it's normal. I took it back to my dealer twice. First they change out the AUX FAN, still didn't fix it. Second, they change out crak case vent valve (honker valve), R&R air cleaner box, mass air flow sensor, intake air tubes and Throttle to replace crank case vent valve, still didn't fix it.

I took it back this morning and have two senior tech listen to it and they have no idea what causing the noise. We have try listen to other BMW there and none of them making any noise when the engine shut off. One senior tech ask me to give him sometime to do research and check with BMW and see if they have any information. He will keep me inform. I hope we can get it resolved quickly. I will keep you post it. Please email me at: DUMAYOU@HOTMAIL.COM

If you find out anything from your dealer and got it fix..please let me know.
