Moon Roof Does Not Close Completely

Hi, the moon roof on my 323i does not close completely in auto. It almost closes, it stops, goes back a few inchews and stops. Then I have to hold the switch until it closses.... HELP!!

You might have to have it lubed. I was having the same problem and had the dealer look at it and i believe that all it needed was a little lube

Sun/Moonroof

I agree with Ngekelly.

The sun/moonroof motor has an anti-trap mechanism.
When the motor senses a higher than normal resistance, it stops itself and opens a bit (like if your fingers were to get trapped, it would stop and open enough to get them out).
Using a spray lubricant (white grease, like for door hinges) should get rid of this problem.

clean and lube it with the clear spray silicon, and then pull down on the head liner under the rear of the sun roof so the shade has alittle more space to slide, then reinitialize it by pressing and holding the tilt up button untill it makes a clicking sound like it over extended, then, press and hold the open button untill it reaches the rear and stops, then press and hold the close button untill it closes and stops
