My gas pedal is activating by its own???

I have 1985 BMW 318 E30 with Pierburg carburator and one problem. My gas pedal is activating randomly by its own. Is there anybody with some tip?

My 1985 300ZX had a spur on the old throttle cable. I almost killed my Mum one day in the park garage, as the car accelerated by itself. Lukcily the old gal is springy , and she jumped out of the way.

Check the throttle cable. Good Luck

Yea bmw has had some bad throttle cables in the past. You should probably just replace it - though i don't have any advice on how to do it.

Yup, thats gonna be a throttle cable, my m3 did it but it was on the cruise cable, when I took my foot off the gas the cruise cable could get jammed and it would keep going. Try just disconnecting the cruise cable if you have it. Otherwise replacing a throttle cable isnt hard.

You can also try spraying wd40 down the throttle cable, I didnt have much luck with it but give it a shot.
