Naked Roundel

I have no idea of where or when this happened. But last night I was loading groceries into my trunk when I noticed that my trunk roundel had no color on it. The "BMW" and propeller is still there as they are raised a bit off of the background, yet the whole emblem is now just chrome looking. There are no signs of anyone prying off the roundel or even scratching it as the outer chrome ring is not damaged. Anyone else have experiences similar to this?

yep - the top can chip off. they are easy to replace.

It's very common, my hood roundel was completely rubbed off.

You can find replacements for about $10 on eBay, or you can get one from your dealer. (If you have a good relationship w/ your dealer, they may even do it for free next time you bring it in for service--- it's a very cheap, easy fix.)

I replaced my hood roundel because there was a goudge in it, but I can't believe how quickly and completely the trunk roundel "disappeared". I ordered a new one from BavAuto for $13. The smaller trunk roundels for the convertibles are harder to come by on eBay.

i need to get a new one for my car as well...the blue paint is chipping, how much does the dealership cost?
