NAV System - Forgot how to enter House Number

Hi everyone... I'm hoping somone can help me with a little conundrum. If this has been answered in another thread, please direct me to that thread because I can't find anything. I know I've done this before, but it's been about a month now and I can't remember how. I even remember replying to a thread with a solution, but it's lost on me now.

I've got the Nav system and I typically have no trouble adding a house number to a street when defining a destination. However, today I completely erased the entries I had and started populating my address book all over again. When I go through the motions:

1.] Enter Country
2.] Enter City
3.] Enter Street
... there's no way to add a house number. The option is there when I'm _not_ adding an entry to the address book (like when I'm just entering a destination for the Nav) but it disappears when I try to add an entry to the address book.

Is there a workaround? It's pretty useless to have a country, city, street without an address.

In advance, thanks for the help.

Bryan

When entry doesn't exist in address book:
Input Destination-->Country, City, Street, House Number/Intersection-->Address Book-->Enter Address------->then press enter and Voila!!!!!

When entry exists in address book with no house number:
Retrieve Address-->then follow above instructions. You will have 2 entries in the address book (one with and one without the house number), just delete the unwanted one.

You are right, we discussed this before.

Thanks guys!

And can you blame me for not remembering? Sheesh... this is so convoluted. I wonder if BMW will ever upgrade the NAV system software (not the dvd, but the actual system itself). If so, this has GOT to be made easier.

Thanks again.

It is beyond me why the programmer would not include the "house number/intersection" field in the "address book add" screen. Obviously the database record includes that info or the workaround wouldn't work.

I am sure they know about this, but from their perspective there is no need to fix it, therefore no bucket of money to do the fix and get the update to customers. As we know, software can always be made better, but you need a budget to draw from to do it. They are likely paying the nav software developers to produce the new 3/4 series software (whatever that may be) and fix the 5 and 7 series more serious problems (in I-Drive) than our trivial address entry problem.
