My 01 330ci has HK business Cd player/tuner right now, I'm looking to get a navigation system. I'm thinking I want a newer OEM (widescreen) nav, so it can look stock, fit correctly, look clean, etc. Does anyone have info (prices) on best place to get it? Or know of other Navs that can be put indash for that clean look.

Provide insight, prices and pictures Please!

Any Advice??

Thanks.

It's doable but it's not easy. There is a guy with a 2001 330xi who did a navigation retro-fit into his non-navi vehicle. I'm sorry I don't really have much info, all I can tell you is that it's doable.

yeah, I hear it's pretty damn hard to do for some reason. Most people just go aftermarket. If you go to a good place, they can make it flush and look stock to someone who's never seen what the stock one looks like.

Nelson, even if you went with a unit that remotely resembled the stock Navi from BMW, you'd most likely lose some stereo functionality. That's the beauty of BMW's system, the face plate is motorized and with the press of a button it tilts out and down (bottom tilts out then lowers itself) so you can access the built-in CD player. The controls for the CD and radio are integrated into the Navi face plate (around the edges).

I wonder if a BMW dealer would take the challenge and try to retri-fit a genuine BMW Navi into a car that was delivered without one. Have you asked? It's probably a pretty expensive job though (assuming it's even possible).

Best of luck to you...

I think you would be better off with a non-integrated system for now, and get a factory nav in your next car. Unless money is no object.

Well I asked Concord BMW & they said its' not something they usually do...nor do they even have the navi as a part order. They said it might be possible, but would end up costing ~4-5K.

Althought I would like to have it, its not worth 4K+ to have it done. Maybe a good aftermarket one in the future, all of the AM ones right now fold out and block the vents, they don't look that clean.

Thanks for your inputs.

Cheers!
