I have a 2003 325i with 5-speed, Sport Package, Harman Kardon. It's almost time for new summer tires (I swap the summer tires for Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 in winter months) and need some suggestions. The OEM tires are Bridgestone Turanza ER30 - Size: 225/45WR17. I like these tires but I'm wondering if there is something better to move to. The Bridgestones are quite pricey and I'm just wondering if there is something better and/or cheaper. I'm looking for something with not too much road noise and good dry handling. Any suggestions?

I recently had to change my tires on short notice and not many places carry 225/45R17, so my choices were limited. One place had some new Michelins and Toyo Proxes 4 ($215 Canadian, or approx. $175 US). I couldn't find any information about the Michelins because they were quite new, but I did find lots of reviews of the Toyos, and people really seem to like them. (http://www.1010tires.com/tirereviews/Toyo_Proxes_4_tire_reviews.html). I had them installed about 4 weeks ago, and they have been fine so far, although I did run over a screw already and needed a repair. They are unidirectionals, UTQG ratings 300, AA, A. Good Luck!

Discount tire, tires.com, offers more than four pages of tires that fit your car, that's alot of choices. I have used Toyo Proxes, Michelin Pilots, Kuhmo, and Yokohamas on my roadster. For the price you cannot beat the Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's. At less than $100.00 each to your door you can afford a set every year, however with a UTOG of 280 they have plenty of stick and life.

tirerack.com has lots of stuff as well.

The High end tires are Michelin Pilot Sport and PS2, and Bridgestone Potenza S-03's

moving to the middle you have more bridgestone and toyo's are i guess goodyear and stuff like that

i have yokohama es100's on and they are fine, cheap and my first set lasted me about 30,000 miles of on and off spirited driving. I've heard Kuhmo's are great for the price.
