Sapphire black, xenons, cold wx pkg, cloth/alcantara. 500 miles/2 weeks. Previously '00 VW GTI VR6, '97 318ti sport, '98 528i auto, '95 530i auto, '90 'vette.

Love the cloth/alcantara - you just stay planted. 6-spd is great, esp. with shorter rearend & closer shift points. Engine/exhaust sound is just right - has made learning the shift points very easy w/o even looking at tach. Handling is incredibly tight - have yet to embarrass the car with maneuvers etc. - it just goes where you point it. In general, best mechanization & placement of switchgear in my experience. Everything works the way it should. Excellent outward vision. So far only beef is CDV - 1st-to-2nd is a tick short of intuitive because of CDV.

Washed with Dawn, then WG twins, then Souverain layer. Sapphire black is almost a deep charcoal when buffed up, a bit livelier than jet black.

In all, a great driving machine.

I've been thinking about taking the CDV off of my car, I don't know if I should do it though... are you planning to take it off?
I’m going to take make off. I’m tired of the delay on fast shifts. I’ll inform you on the contrast.

Congrats on the wheels - actually except for the color seems identical to the one we have ordered - same packages. Great car! Glad your enjoying it!

Whats CDV BTW - I have no clue?

CDV is Clutch Delay Valve. Is in the hydraulic actuator line to clutch and function is to introduce a brief delay in clutch engagement, forcing abit of slip. Avoids catastrophic stress from dumping the clutch, but also tends to throw off shift timing - no matter what you do to shift smoothly, it feels like this gadget is adding bad timing on top of it.

Is a small doober, different varieties for different BMWs and in different location on E46. No-delay replacements are available in after market. Don't know affect on warrantee. A bit complicated to replace. Good threads on CDV - use search in various forums.
