I have a 2001 330CI, are all the wheels the same size? Cause I thought they were, but sometimes I hear that the back wheels are bigger. I had a spare tire in my trunk, and I actually messed up my front right rim, so I replaced it with the spare. The car seems to be running fine, but if the wheel sizes are different i may very well have the wrong wheel on there.

Thanks!

The Performance Package wheels are 18" Type 135M.

Type 135M Performance Package wheels from BMWWheels.com:
$412.00 FRONT $420.00 REAR plus the freight to your door.

Type 68 are the 17" Sport Package wheels, not the Performance Package ones.

Your wheels are all the same size. The M3 and Performance Package wheels are the only ones that are staggered.

Those are the 135M's all right. They aren't on the web site yet, but I called BMWWheels.com and got the prices I posted.

Have fun with your wheels -- I think those are the nicest BMW has ever made [:D]

The 'ZHP' rims are awsome when you're headin' down the road on a sunny day.
But man... are they a 'pain-in-the-[shake]' to clean.
Yup, you're right. In fact I knew before I got them that that would be the case as the gap between the spokes is very narrow and impossible to fit a sponge. You can barely fit your little finger in the space.

I'm thinking of making some kind of tool, like an ice cream stick wrapped in a soft fabric. Does anyone have any other ideas? I prefer not to use spray-on wheel cleaner products unless I have to for stubborn tar stains, as it tends to affect the wheel finish over time.

I haven't tried this yet, but I heard a recommendation for those foam rubber paintbrushes. They squish down nicely between the spokes.

That's a good idea! Except they'd have to be firm-ish along their length so you can get some leverage to actually dislodge the dirt. I'll look into it. Cheers.

The ones they sell here in the States are a sandwich of two pieces of foam rubber with a stiff plastic rib in the center -- just the ticket (if you'll pardon me using that expression on a car enthusiast board). [:)]

Are those the same as mine? (Looks similar, but a little different?)

Those slots are a pain to clean, but easy with the right tool. I picked up a wheel cleaning kit from bavauto that has 2 brushes - One with a biig, wide round brush, the other with a slim conical brush that fits in those slots absolutely perfectly.

I can clean a wheel and detail it in a minute easily with these sweet lil' brushes.

Actually I think I have m3 rims... I have the 17" sporty looking rooms. I have a sports package on my car... so would they still be the same size?

Thanks

Griott's Garage sells a three pack of foam wheel cleaning brushes that work great. They are similar to the foam paint brushes, but are much firmer and last quite awhile. They have plastic handles, so there is no metal to work through the brush and scratch your wheels. I don't know if they would fit in between the spokes on these 135 rims. Good luck!
