Hi,

I'm new here, although I've been reading all the messages for a while.

Just ordered our first BMW. 330cic, steel blue/gray leather/blue top, premium package, sport package, auto transmission, navi, xenon lights.

Salesman says we should have it sometime in August. Can't wait.

I'm having second thoughts on the color. I really like the Mystic Blue/sand interior combo too.

Any input would be most appreciated. Is Mystic Blue as difficult to take care of as black?

Thanks,

Dawn

I my previous 325ci I had Topaz blue, which is similar, but a little lighter than the orient....I had the coupe. But your convertible with grey leather will be STUNNING in orient blue. YES, the dark blue is just as difficult to maintain as black -- but its worth it because the blue/grey combo is awesome...congrats!

Thanks everyone.

I was bummed when they discontinued Topaz Blue in mid 03, but we weren't ready to buy a new car until a few days ago, when our 1992 Mazda 929 began to have tranny problems. We had already put a bunch of $$$ into the AC, and realized it was just going to fall apart eventually -- even with only 56K miles.

Glad we were able to do the 330 convertible. It should be fun in South Florida -- not in the summer though -- it's been averaging 94-97 degrees every day for the past couple of weeks. I guess we'll ride with the top down in the evening for a while.

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the board!! What a nice combination of colors. I am excited for you because I know what I was like waiting for mine to arrive.....reading the brochure every day, searching the roads for '04 330s with xenons and LED taillights, wondering what it will feel like to drive it every day.

I debated the convertible, but knew I would only be able to use it a couple months out of the year. Too damn hot most of the time like you said. But every time I see one I still wonder......

Just ask any question and the board members will erupt with answers.

Get the windscreen from Pacific BMW. It's over $100 cheaper there and it lets you envoy the top down experience even in warmer weather because it helps create a cocoon in the cabin. Unfortunately, it prevents anyone from sitting in the back. I can't use one with my daughter's seat back there so I'll have to throw the top up pretty soon because of the TX heat. [V]

There was a CiC on the lot when I picked mine up with the same colors you picked and it was absolutely beautiful. Enjoy your new Bimmer! [driving]

Welcome to the board! I have the gray interior, I really like it. Also, I'll second the suggestion for the windscreen. It does a great job of cutting down wind blast and noise. You can carry on a conversation and hear the radio at 60....70.....80.....90 mph (not that I would know, hehe.)
