Hi everyone,

I posted something earlier in the Newbie section, but then figured it may be better here.

Thanks to all on this board for some great info. I just joined, but read many posts. It was very helpful in making my decision.

Ordered my first BMW yesterday. I can't wait! Its gonna be a rough 6-8 weeks!

2004 325i
Mystic Blue
Premium
Sport
Cold Weather
Harmon Kardon
Manual Trans

Its a small detail, but I talked the dealer into installing the aux-in audio adapter for free. Can't wait to pump mp3s through the HK!

Welcome. The wait will seem long but will be worth it in the end. It was 72 days for me. There is nothing like arriving at the dealer and seeing your new BMW for the first time. [thumb]

[welcome] Post some pics when you can.
You say that you have been reading threads on the board and they influenced your decision. Was the sliptronic thread a factor? You loaded up the car with options but got the 5 speed, I'm curious if your a 'manny tranny" kind of guy, or if the auto trans problems posted here were a factor. Good luck with the car. [cheers]

Thanks! I really just love manual trans. I haven't had an automatic yet.

One of the things I read a lot about here was RWD in the snow. I was a little nervous about it, but so many posts said that all you need is a good pair of snow tires, gave me some confidence about getting the i instead of the xi.

"Yo, Maxer..."

[wave] & [thumb] on the 325i & [welcome]

This Board will keep you 'positively motivated' during that 6-8 week delivery date window.

I do these 'remote/hardship-duty' work assignments and jumping on this site gets me through the 24/7... [:)]

Plus, I picked-up so much info from this site, it's like a 'fun' owners manual[^]

Thanks! I plan on checking into this site often! I hope to get the info Monday to login to the BMW website to see my order status. Then the real hard wait begins...

I ordered my 330i yesterday, I'm in CT too so I'm suffering with you. I was told end of March, but I'm thinking April so I don't get my hopes up it will be here in March.

It's important to put winter tires on all four corners. Check out tire rack, they have good info and excellent prices/service

(Some of you may have seen this is another post, maybe some of you haven't)

This will make it a little less painful (or maybe a little more painful!). You can find out exactly when it arrives in port. Go here:

http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/Too...cking/index.jsp

and click on Auto. Enter your VIN (get it from the dealer or BMW Owners circle) in the cargo ID field.

It will tell you the shipping history and schedule for your baby.

FWIW mine was 9 days from offloading in NJ to delivery at the dealer.

Congrats on the order Moderato! [thumb] What dealer did you order from? I ended up going with West Springfield.

congratulations man. I remember the day I got mine. There was no wait since I didnt order. They had mine right on the lot. I guess some guy ordered a car with the exact options (minus the nav. and plus the heated seats) and color I wanted but ended up not purchasing due to not being able to find a cosigner for his loan. So, the dealer rolled over his deposit as a discount to me and I got mine 1200 off msrp without having to wait! =) Damn it's been 5 months since I got my 2004 325ci (pp, sp, xenons, heated seats), and I still havent posted pics. I gotta get a digital camera. Anyway, I love mine, Im sure you'll love yours man. COngrats again.
