Hey guys! Here it is, the very first one installed!

Kevin was the first to get it (he's in CA, so he got it today). :D

Here is his initial review:

"Throttle response is definitely improved. The engine seems to be chocked by the stock intake at higher RPM range. The RD intake makes the engine more willing to rev. It is just my non-scientific observation. I can’t wait to see the dyno result, either.

The new intake sounds very awesome! As most of the aftermarket intakes, the RD intake starts to roar from 4,000 RPM; the decibel continues to increase all the way to redline.

IMO, this RD intake will be the next big thing among BMW owners who are into car modification."

And he took time to get some awesome high-res pictures for us to see it installed. Since this is the first example, it still carries the Racing Dynamics logo (from Europe). The rest of them will have an RD Sport logo printed in the next shipment.

Enjoy! :D

Here are a few more pics of the intake. The intake is well manufactured and is very light. The shell is pure CF, not an overlay - great feature.

Enjoy the pics. :)

Hey, it may be too loud. [fake] [rofl] Man, I can't believe you want to get rid of the Remus, one of the quietest exhausts there... Either way, the intake will increase engine noise, especially past the 4000rpm. It will in fact turn into a roar.

BTW, RD Sport is expediting the intakes next week by air to me, ahead of the main shipment. [thumb] So with luck, I'll have them ready for shipping in two weeks.

The air comes from below. If you look down, you'll see an opening in the bottom. That's where Dinan gets its air also. The upper shield has to come in contact with the headlight area to seal the flow from the engine heat.

Actually, not really. first, it is a BMW part, so the prices are always higher for the upgrades, regardless of what they are. I really wish that wasn't the case however...

Second, if you cross-compare prices among other intakes, ECIS, Dinan, Gruppe M, etc, they are all priced pretty close to each other. Then throw in the CF shell, and this intake is suddenly a deal. Compare to the Gruppe M, which sells for $600, and sells a lot for its sound and CF shell.

So here you go.
