I've just received my brand new serie 3 with cd charger, nav and Logic7 sound system.
In the documentation, it seems possible to play mp3 in the cd player (local or 6-cd changer).

But I've tried to burn a cd with MP3. The cd is not recognized by the audio system.
I've tried different burning methods. But nothing changes... :(

- directories
- no directories
- directory with 'BMW' name
...

Does someone have any clues to help me ? ;)

welcome to the board Jean-Francois,

i don't think the cd player plays the mp3 files, when they say mp3, they mean: you can plug in a portable mp3 device in your center armrest storage bin. there's an aux outlet there.

I have a hot-off-the-press 330xi with Navigation (and no changer).
The CD slot in the dash plays mp3 discs with no problems (with the tag information displayed on the Nav screen)...

I'm using +R discs. I know sometimes some players can read one format better than the other (+R vs.-R)...

I have an 05 X3 and can play mp3's however if I use my computer to blend the music together, I can only hear 3 songs on the disc and the player quits. Will the software update help me?

Yes apparenlty I have to wait until december to update the software...

MP3s are not played, but the soft is full of bugs.
This morning the I-drive was totally stopped : so no radio, no cd, no nav, no everything...
I've called the garage and it seems to be a very known problem.

I've explained to the garage owner, that if a car crash arrives, they'lle be responsible of that !
