Just woundering... does the "lincoln's head" penny test apply to 330Ci Sport Tires? I looked at my tires yesterday and in some areas they appeared very bald. I probably should fine for the rest of this non-winter tire season...

Can't really tell if you are making fun of me, being sarcastic, or stating the truth. [confused]

They are bald... but I never noticed any performance slide. I take my car to the limits so I think I should be on the safe side.

Whats the best performance tires for BMW? Should I just buy the same type that are on?

Tread Depth

Hi Guys,

I know that usually New Tire Treads is 11/32" from the bottom of the groove to tread. In the groove, there is a mini bump that tells you when the tread wears down to the bump, you should change the tire. There is no milage indicator, it is just how hard you push your car.

Pending how often you check your tire pressure, If it is under inflated treadwear will show more on the sides. If the tire is over inflated, treadwear will show in the middle.

I would never skimp on tires, shocks and brakes for cars. It is what keeps you on the road. I think it is worth it to spend a few hundred dollars more on tires and shcoks than to give to a body shop when you get into an accident due to negligence or trying to be a penny wise and pound foolish.[thumb]

summer... just thinking that BMW chose good performance tires right for the car and I shouldn't get a different type... or should I try some other summer-only tires.
bmw sticks continentals on their cars, and continentals are such an avg. tire i'm amazed. michelin's are nice, but wildly over priced, just like pirelli's. obviously my vote goes for the Bridgestone Potenza S-03's because of their awesome performance, nice look, and acceptable price.
