Newbie Needs Help w/ BMW 325i

Hey there Proud BMW-owners,

I recently bought a 2001 BMW 325i. Had all the servicing, everything done before I picked it up from my friends Body Shop. Apparently, nine months into the purchase I have a Yellow Circular light on my dash and it won't go away. When i got my regular oil change from the BMW dealership, they told me I needed new brake pads in the rear. Apparently, I just put new brake pads a month back with new sensors and stuff. But they say otherwise. Kindly, suggest me what should be done in a situation like this.

Thanks,
HotrodBMW

somebody is misleading you - either the dealer or your friend, OR they are both wrong, and you have an electrical problem with the sensor.

If the pads are only a month old, you should be able to see pad material just by looking closely at the pads. Or take it to another shop for another opinion.

yeah I agree with kirby, rear pads also wear down the least, the rotors and pads on my discovery were original since purchase in the rear up until 60k miles while the front pads/ rotors were replaced numerous times, since your car is an 01' Im guessing you're out of warranty, maybe have an independant mechanic look at your car, and possibly inspect the brakes yourself. I always see what is done to my car and how it is done, almost always supervise so I get no crap.
