Nice ebay pickings, but how difficult to install engine or interior?

What does it take to replace an interior like this? The guy's auction makes it seem pretty easy that "The front seat bolt in with four bolts each and the rear seats and side panels are all snap/screw in."
Is this right? How much work would be involved in installing a new interior like this?

I'd also LOVE to have that amazing E30 engine the same ebay sellers got on sale but I KNOW that installing an engine is over my head tech wise. I'd take that eng for $2K but how much would install like that cost ballpark?

Yeah that interior looks like just retrimmed stock panels so they will all just bolt in or clip in in the standard locations.

A small amount of fiddling about with clips (of which some will break as the plastic is over 20years old) but should go in sweet.

Not a huge fan of the colour personally but each to their own.

Please note your car MUST be a 2-door or the rear side panels won't fit, and the rear seat cushion on the 2-door is slightly different shape. Will fit a 4-door, but it sticks out a bit more as the corners aren't rounded to accept passengers through rear doors.

The motor would be almost bolt-in. A good mechanic should have it in in a day and everything working fine not long after that. If your car is auto and you want to go to manual at the same time (recommended) then it'll probably cost half as much again.

swapping an engine out by an indy is easily$2000, converting a stick to an auto or vice versa another $500 (flywheel stuff), the interior is not hard (as noted) for the front seats, assuming they are not powered seats but the rest is not as easy.
Plus what about the carpet and other interior bits? Add to that e-bay? Man...that sounds to me around $5 large and still no guarantee...I wouldn't do that myself

I still say that the interior is easy. I've done it before so that helps, but I could have the entire interior out and the new stuff as shown on ebay in the car in about an hour and a half assuming I hit a couple of broken clips here and there.

Cheaper than a retrim that's for sure.

Agreed regarding the motor etc - if you're not doing it yourself, things are bound to not go to plan and cost $$$$$$

That said, if the motor is reasonably priced (hard for me to say seeing as I don't live over there and don't know the local market), then its probably a really cheap and easy way to get the power considering the other options out there. If the motor was cheap and near me I'd do it for sure.

so you've done an interior before? that should make it simpler...didn't have to remove the seats then...outstanding...best of luck
