Noise Problems Out Of Ac????? Help

I have a 1999 323i and as stupid as it "sounds," it sounds like there is a cricket in my AC unit. It is a very subtle sound, and it does not happen all the time, but when it does, it is very, very annoying. When I turned the AC unit off, the sound still happens. Has this happened to anyone, or "sound" familiar to anyone. Thanks for the help!

Hey! I'm experiencing the same problem with my 2001 325i.. im not sure why its happening either.. its only on my drivers side too

My guess would probably be the fan clutch that is making the squeaking noise.

same thing. Mine is very random. Haven't heard it in a while actually but it is not related to the a/c. Turning the headlamps on and off changes the pitch momentarily but I can't find anything to make to go away besides turning up the music. please disclose any findings. thanks
