Guys,

Need help/advice on a few things..

1. Front right suspension seems to have something loose in it. It is more noticable when going over bumps slowly. Truth is that it could well be something else near the suspension and not the suspension at all, but whatever it is, it sounds loose and I can't identify it. No pattern to it and I know that if I go to the dealer its gonna keep quiet until i leave! Any similar experiences?

2. Is there any way of identifying whether my car is fitted with Option 640, the mobile phone preparation (antenna and phone wiring)? Is there something that I can visually see? I didn't order my car with it but having said that, I didn't order the hardtop preparation kit either and it came installed.. Basically I'm looking at installing the Nokia bluetooth car kit. The buttons on my multifunction steering wheel will only work if the kit is hooked up to this 'option 640' or so I was told.

3. When turning the steering wheel there is a slight squeek that sounds as if it is coming from inside it. Only happens when turning the wheel and it almost sounds as if something needs to be lubricated. Its not the PAS 'whining'. Any ideas?

Thanks!

1. No clue.

2. In the US cars they put these little plugs in the trunk lid with labels on them showing what is pre-wired. If you don't have these, you can remove the left side trunk liner and look for the wiring harness for the phone. In mine the harness contains a 3-pin power plug, a thin coax cable and another connector with a purple plastic shield on it.

3. Mine started doing the same thing recently, like a slight grinding though. like something inside is rubbing when I turn it. Don't know what it is. Warranty next time in.

1. I have the same problem with mine.. I went outside and pressed down on each corner of the car and it sounds as if the springs are making sounds. That I know of there is nothing worng witht he springs, I thought they might be loose, but they are fine. It's definately annoying when going over bumps, but I have gotten used to it and tune it out. Any suggestions would be fine, however.

Hmm ok. thanks for the help and I'll have a look for those plugs in the boot. Its a pity that these little problems seem to happen to quite a few people and it certainly is not doing much for BMW's reputation.

Thanks again.
