on the driver side of my car, i hear this "chi...chi..chi..chi.." sound when my
car is rolling slowly. it almost sounds like a part of my tire is sticking to the
ground. i have no idea what the sound actually is, but it is coming from the
outside..i think my rear driver side tire. is anyone else having this
problem? anyone know what might be causing it or how serious this may be?
i also have rattling sounds from my speakers, but apparently this is a common
problem. but once in awhile, especially on the freeway, i would hear a loud
"CRACK!!" sound from the passenger door. at first i thought rocks were hitting
my car, but when i looked there were no scratches. what are these noises??
thanks.

my car: 2004 330ci.

Try to determine if it happens ONCE per wheel revolution, or multiple times per wheel revolution.

If it's once per rev, it's wheel/rim/tire/brake related:
- Dragging brakes on warped rotor
- defective wheel or wheel cover flexing with each revolution
- trim ring not attached properly and flexing with each revolution
The last two usually only apply to steel wheels for obvious reasons. I've experienced this several times in the past.

If it is multiple times per rev, it is almost always the Universal Joints and they need replacing.
