I am helping my friend to pair his O2 PDA with his BMW. I know O2 is popular in Europe, so I thought it would pair well with BMW bluetooth.

The device found the BMW hand free connection, but it fails connecting every time.

Does any of you have any experience with O2 PDA?

Thanks!

The BT pairing process can be temperamental. If it's a 2005 E46, the device must be paired within 2 minutes of turning the key (instead of a pairing button, the system stays in auto-pairing mode for 2 minutes). I also could only pair my when the key was turned to accessory, instead of on.

Have you gotten far enough along in the process to be prompted for the passkey?

Yes. I have a motorola phone and works just fine with BMW bluetooth. But, my friend is having problem with O2 PDA. I know the O2 PDA is not one of the compatible bluetooth phone, but since O2 PDAs are manufactured in Europe and I heard it is very popular there, it would works with BMW.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help--my phone is also a Moto. I remember reading a site somewhere that showed which Bluetooth protocols are needed to work with the car. There's one for the handsfree/speakerphone functionality, and another for uploading the phonebook.
