odd problem

Last week I pulled my center console out to hose it down and clean it. My deck requires a constant 12 supply which I tapped from my cig. lighter. When I hooked it back up im having a weird problem. About 90% of the time when i put my car in reverse or roll the driver side window down my deck loses power. Anyone have any idea why this is happeneing??? Im really confused, any ideas on whats causing this? My deck is a POS btw lol

If it's shutting off, there may be a short somewhere, maybe one of your wires is not fully insulated.

Yeah I traced it back to a bad ground wire, I dont know why that made it only mess up when unrolling the window or going in reverse, but it works fine now

the reverse switch and window switches are grounded near the same point - when you closed any of those circuits, you eliminated your base current (0 volts), aka your short that shut off the head unit.

...you can unroll your windows?!
