2001 BMW 330i with automatic transmission
I recently discovered that one of my air intake tube/hose has a crack in it. I've learned that the local autoparts stores can not get this part. So I have to get it from BMW. The BMW dealership is not a convienent drive for me. So I'm hoping to be able to call them with a part number to see if they have it in stock or if it needs to be ordered. This way I only need to go there once.
I suppose I should describe the part in question. I believe it's the air intake hose that contacts directly to the engine. The main part of this hose has about a 2 or 3 inch opening at both ends and has a smaller hose that comes off it at a "T" or "Y" which is only about an inch in diameter. This smaller acordian type hose it what cracked. Another way to look at it is to start with the airfilter. The air filter connects to a hose that then connects to another hose. I believe this second hose is the one I want.
I would appreciate it if anyone has an exploded drawing of the stock intake system for my car or just happens to know the part number.
