I've just become the proud owner of a 2002 330ci M Sport conv. Haven't stopped smiling yet, but there is one problem with the car which is irratating me. When put in the reverse, the parking sensors start sounding intermittently even when there is nothing behind. To start with, I thought that this might just be because it has the lowered sports suspension, and that they are picking up the kerb, but it happens even on flat ground.

Has anyone else experienced this ?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Yep, had it twice. First time it went away after restarting the car. Second time it didn't go away with restarting. Had to wait a day before it suddenly worked normal again. It both happened during freezing temperatures. Try to wash the sensors (don't use high pressure from a small distance....duh) with a sponge and carwash soap (with outside temperatures above let's say 5 degrees celcius). It that doesn't work.....sorry go to the BMW dealer.
