Passenger side seatbelt flaps in wind

In my '03 330xi, with the passenger side window open the seatbelt flaps in the wind something awful. This seems like a really amateur design flaw and surprises the heck out of me. Anybody else have this problem? Got any suggestions on what to do about it? Leaving it buckled with nobody in the passenger seat strikes me as overkill.

I have mine buckled, but that's only b/c the thing that you click it into makes this horrible rattling noise it it's not buckled. Also, my seetbelts in the back flap around. I just ignore it now. i know several other cars (non bmws) that have flapping seetbelts as well. I look at like this: They designed the outside of the car to deal with wind, not the inside.

i have always wondered what that "horrible rattling noise" coming from the back of my 325i was ... dude thanks ...

mine is not horrible but it does make a slight vibration type noise at speeds greater than 40 mph ..

thanks,
ben

the belt is effected by the air coming coming in through soem open windows and the buckle lock thingy makes an annoying noise???? geeez, it seems as if my old fart 98 3er has a better quality than the new ones. there nothing rattles.

no, i don't want to be posing, it is just that your reports scareme somehow. i never would have thought bmw builds something that crappy!

Try using Velcro straps that Snowboarders, Skiers, Mountain Bikers etc... use to strap their pant legs/boards together. This may work. I have a Y2k 328i and haven't heard the sounds your cars are making with the windows down.
