Performance on 330i

Got an '05 330i w/Performance Package. While driving at speeds between 50-60mph the car struggles to accelerate. The engine gets really loud and the speed increases very slowly. This does not happen at any other speed below 50mph or above 60mph. It doesn't matter whether I drive in regular mode or Sport mode as long as I don't accelerate strong enough for the transmission to kick into the higher gear.
Anyone experienced this problem?
Any help is appreciated.

I have no idea what the problem is but being an 05 I would take it in and have it checked.

If you are cruising along at 50-60 mph and then accelerate lightly to moderately, the transmission may not downshift and you will perhaps get the sensation that it is sluggish. If you are cruising at that speed, the transmission is in high gear. If you accelerate hard enough to cause a downshift it will take off much quicker.

This may be what you are experiencing.

Try this: Cruising at 50 mph in D, quickly move the shifter to the left and forward all in one motion and accelerate. Look at the readout also. It should show 4 at the point when you command the upshift. The transmission will upshift at your command and should accelerate nicely from there.

It performed just like you described it! I wonder if this is by design?
So i'll have to pay a visit to the dealer to see if they can adjust it somehow because it is annoying.

By the way you were right on the money for the second time (navigation icon issue).
