It was hard to see her again at the body shop graveyard. I still can't believe that we were hit so hard.

After about 3 weeks of going back and forth with the Ins. Co., we finally got them to total our X. Two adjusters wanted to repair it, but finally a great supervisor inspected it, and declared it a total loss. The frame is bent, and there are like 1 inch gaps between the door seams on the driver side (and the car was hit on the passenger side). Not considering the frame damage....the repair bill was at about $25,000.

On a happy note....our new 2005 X5 4.4i should be here in about 1 week. Different colour, a few more goodies... We had to get another X after it saved my life. Test drove the Range Rover & Porsche Cayenne....hated the Rover...felt like a 4x4 Cadillac, and the Cayenne was really fast, but the interior felt cheap/spartan.

Ouch...I can definitely feel your pain. I'm glad you are getting another X.

Just curious, which Cayenne did you test drive? The S or Turbo? I've been in the S before and I think the interior is quite nice.

Hi Tom,

it was a 2005 Cayenne S. Maybe it felt cheap because I am so used to burl walnut in the interior. The S had aluminium finish. I guess it was not as cheap, as it was cold. It drove awesome, but the radio, climate and center console looked "cheap" and def. sub BMW and even MBZ and Audi design/layout. Too spartan.
