As for the prototype, I was thinking like having "E30 325e" as the entire background. Like a black bg, with "E30 325e" in red stretched across the background with the opacity down a bit.

I chose another font and there is a surrounding outline of black around the letters, I thought maybe that blends in with the picture better.

Bah, that doesn't look good. I think it WOULD look good if I chose the proper font and size. Also, I think a transparent/translucent font color would work better, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that....maybe a light gray color that blends in really well will work. Am I now understanding what you want? My problem is that I am having a tough time picturing the signature that you have in your head.
