pioneer TS-C160R

Hi i have had these pioneer components TS-C160R put in my 94 e36 320i and they sound like crap all they do is distort i have had the mid range placed at the bottom of the door trim near where the seat adjuster is could that be why they sound bad because the is not enough room for the speaker they only sound better if i use the hpf on the head unit for they money i payed for them thay dont sound much better the the stock nokia speakers that were in there any help would be much appreciated

If there "..is not enough room for the speaker" than yes that could be one reason. Why would you install a speaker that does not fit? The door itself acts as a "speaker box" and if it cannot vibrate properly than it will sound distorted. Get a speaker that fits.

it was the stock bmw system on the back of the speakers it says nokia on them why should it have something else in there
