Please Help.

I have a 1998 323ic 5speed. I have a mech working on veh now but he seems to be stuck with this problem. There is a error code in his analyzer for o2 sensors bad altho he has replaced both sensors with new ones. He seemed to think the engine ECM was bad. I took it to a shop that works on BMW's and had a used ECM put in veh and coded to car. It still says O2 sensors are bad when analyzer is pluged in. Engine seems to run good but where I live we have to have emmision test done and veh will not pass with this error code. Anybody have any ideas. Thanks

Thanks Big Daddy, That was a good article. My mech finally found the problem. The engine ECM was the wrong one for the car. It had one from a 2.8 eng which has four o2 sensors. My car only has two so it was looking for two more sensors and sending a fault code for those missing sensors. At least that is the way it was explained to me.
