Please let me in my car...

I have a 2003 330i Sedan with 25k miles on it. I've had an ongoing problem with my remote key where the drivers door doesn't unlock sometimes even though the other doors do. Usually I have to lock the doors and unlock to open or use the key. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the actuator (door lock motor). This solved it for a month or two then the problem came in again. Took the car in for it's low mileage oil change and they said they weren't sure what was wrong so they kept it for a few days and supposedly replaced everything in the door. So they return my car to me (drivers seat dirty by the way..) and a couple days later I'm in a store parking lot unloading some groceries. I look up to see a homless man zero'ng in on me. I casually walk over to my door, hit the unlock button and ..... wait for it...... wait for it..... the door is still locked. I am unable to get my key in the lock before I get the sales job from Mr. homeless. Needless to say I cursed the dealership all the way home for the prospect of having to play the door lock lottery everytime I push that button on my key. Now that I've vented, what recommendations do you guys have? I guess they can replace the guts of the door again but come on, it's a frickin door lock, not the VANOS. Can we get it to open on command, please...... [bash]

Your warranty is honored at all BMW dealerships and I would go back and complain about the dirty seat and the door lock problem. If that fails to get results call BMW NA.

yeah, I'm going to take it back in and complain. It's under warranty so it's no cost to me, just frustrating. The other Dallas dealership is even worse from what I hear. I didn't buy the car from a dealership so I feel like I'm treated like 2nd class even though they get paid the same for doing warranty work and service..

In Dallas? I recommend Classic BMW - on 75 just north of 635. I've been to John Roberts at 635/35 for sales and service, both are a nightmare there!

My car does the same thing. Luckily, it's pretty intermittent and only happens to the passenger's side. So, I'm able to get in, then reach over and manually unlock the door by pulling on the door handle. When it happens, the interior unlock button in the center console won't work either.

It's not frequent enough for me to take it in to the dealer tho. Prolly wouldn't happen when I arrive.
