Possible valve noise at start up

I noticed several days ago when my car sits for several hours or overnight there is a slight noise for one to two seconds after start up. It sounds like a "ticking" sound similar to when you start an engine following an oil change. You can only hear it if the door is open on the car when starting. My car is a 2002 330i with 57,000 highway miles and has never been driven hard at all. There is no power loss, no smoking, etc. and it is not low on oil. Tell me this is nothing since my warrenty expired seven thousand miles ago..

I have heard a similar noise, but from inside the car on several new BMws including mine. If it is the noise I am thinking it is do not worry about it. If it only started then I would check further and ask the servicing dealer or shop where you go.
