Prior to pick-up of 2006 330xi: anything I should tell the dealer to do?

As I anxiously await the arrival of my 2006 330xi (I'm guessing by mid-October; it's currently somewhere between Baltimore, MD and Charleston, SC...), I am wondering if there is anything I should tell the dealer I want done before taking possession of the car.

When I had a 330 (two cars ago), there were a number of things only the dealer could program (like automatic locking of the doors when moved out of park....) that they would later charge you for.

I'm guessing that with the iDrive (which I will have) most of these things can be set by me.

Just curious if there are, in fact, programming or other things I should make sure get done before I drive the car away. [driving2]

Thanks!

Don't forget to tell them not put any of their stickers, plates, emblems, etc identifying the
delearship on your brand new work of art, tainting what would otherwise be a spectacular
exterior.

I would also ask them if the car has the most up-to-date firmware installed in the on board
computer. But it sounds like you already plan to do that.

I don't want to sound like a complete dope... too bad if I do really, but in America, is it legal to not have the front number plate on a car? I've seen it a lot in movies but just thought they were bad sets... Now that Kuthair mentioned it, I thought I would clarify.

Congrats Argelius, you can have the dealer program the car keys to your desired settings. This means whenever you use your keys to unlock your car it will automatically adjust your seats and mirrors.

Floor mats and no front plates are also great advice.

It depends on which state the car is registered. Some states require a front plate and some make it optional. You should check with your local DMV.
