I am in love with driving my bimmer. I have put my 323i through untold miles at present with little or no problems. I routinely visited my dealership under warrantee and visit my bimmer dude (independent bimmer service shop) every 7,500 for oil changes and service every 30,000 miles. I have a question, just after my 150,000-mile visit my upper most pulley began to make a squealing sound. Needless to say I immediately went back to the shop to see how bad this could be and was astonished to find out that this is not a new problem and was expected. My bimmer dude wants me to replace all three pulleys at the same time for a mere $480.00. Has anyone ever experienced this problem and do I need to replace them all or only the one that's bad. I was leaving for a business trip in my car the next day so I sprayed WD40 on it until I can arrange to service it. I have driven 600 miles with the temporary fix with no squealing whatsoever, I know I have to replace the bad pulley, but I would really like to keep using WD40 as a permanent solution.[driving2]
