Question for California residents about my 328I

Hello,

I have a 1998 328I (5-speed) that I was considering putting a Conforti performance chip in. However, when I told my mechanic that I was thinking of moving to California, he warned me that 93 octane gas is not available in California, and thus I would have to disable the performace chip if I went out there. Is this correct, and if so is there any solution to the problem?

Unless you are running Forced Induction, I don't see any issues with running 91 instead of 93.

I agree with Tom, 91 should be fine! I run 91 in my M roadster with Dinan engine software, and ran 91 in my 91 318is with a Conforti chip.
