Radio Reception Sucks

I need help!!!!!!!!! I have a 2000 328CI with a Alpine 9815 Headunit installed and I can't receive good radio reception...All the wires are connected properly, but I still hear static. Please help me.....................

Do you have metallic tint? Sometimes that affects reception. Another possibility is the connections to the antenna.

Add on to your radio problem

Just to piggy back on your problem, I can't seem to get my AM radio to land on the tens. For example, I need to get 1010 for a news channel in NY but I can only get 1008 or 1018. NJ Turnpike has an info channel at 1610 but I can only get 1608. This is a crazy problem but it drives me nuts and has cost me hours on the turnpike as a result.
