threes 2 main wire you need to worry about. Thats your constant power, and ignition power. use a lightbulb or test light in conju****ion with pulling fuses and turning on and off ignition to see whatwire causes the bulb to turn off w/ ignition, which wire lights the bulb and ignition wont turn off
grounds are brown
run your own speaker wires if you go aftermarket. alot of BMW's have a built in amplifiers and trust me, if you install an aftermarket deck. you do not want that. even bypass that fader control if your car has it. mine had a fader conrtrol next to the hazard switrch.
thats the best you can do. trial and error with a test light until you find your main 3.
the ACC wire and the constant wire and the ground. then run own speakers wire, voila. done.
Just a footnote on constant power wires. alot of new cd/mp3 playyers require to run a separate wire DIRECTLY to battery of a certain gauge. There for you may only need to find your switchabvle power source (one that runs off your ignition switch) ITs the main one you need to find, if any.( A ground can be grounded wherever convenient. I grounded mine to where my computer is) Read your owners/installation manual when you install your new deck.
My Alpine 9833 required a 10 gauge constant power wire lead DIRECT to battery. But then again my deck wasn't your average deck. Its alpines top of the line cd player and puts out 240 watts alone.
