Rain Floods Interior --Fixed!!

Well I finally took the car to the dealer after the rain soaked the floor on the drivers side (both front and rear). Thought it was the sunroof which the dealer worked on but nope... It's something called a vapor seal in the doors. Actually they took apart all 4 doors and found the vapor seals broken. Didn't know that much water can get thru the door panels... Then they had to remove the seats and center console to rip out the carpet and get it to dry...took 3 whole days to dry everything. I'm just waiting for it to rain hard again and see if it's fixed.

By the way, I had a flutuating rpm issue at idle too that they fixed - sort of. Had to replace the VANOs unit - shaft, sprockets, gasket and all. It hasn't completely gone away but the car drives much better. [:D]

Wow that's the first time I've heard of this. You should also request they replace the carpet too if you smell any mold.

Interior wet from rain

I am glad I found another person with the same problem. My dealer didn't take out console etc. But replaced the door seal of the drivers side. Water was coming in from the bottom. The dealer said they tested it with forced water and now it is ok. I hope this works. I can't stand another problem with this car. My warranty is up next month!!

MsB2001,

Sorry to hear you have the same issue. Did the dealer check all the other doors as well? My dealer supposedly took apart all the doors and found they were all torn. I think they didn't put back in all the insulation either because the car has much more road noise than before but they said that's due to my mismatched tires - but I've been using the same tires and am noticing a difference in noise level. Oh well, my warranty is over now. nothing I can do. Good luck with the rain.
