Ready to buy but need advice

Well... I think I've finally got all the information I can possibly gather about my purchase, and am ready to hit the dealer this weekend. I'll be buying from BMW San Francisco. I've got a couple of questions though:

1.] Everyone is saying I should go to the dealer expecting to pay "invoice" then haggle "up" from there. While I think this will work fine on a car sitting on the dealer's lot, how does this work if I want to order from the factory and take delivery from this dealer?

2.] Has anyone haggled with a dealer on a car they ordered from the factory? If so, how'd you do?

I'm getting a 2004 330Ci convertible and want it fully loaded with premium/sports packages plus Nav. If they've got one on their lot, will I have to start bargaining from the sticker price, or should I let them know I know what the invoice is, and start from there? This is going to be the first brand new car I've ever bought and I could certainly use some tips on negotiating with the dealer. I don't want to be taken advantage of.

Any assistance is totally appreciated.

I used carsdirect.com to price out my car. Then actually used AAA's fleet pricing to connect me to a dealer. Haggled from that price.

www.carsdirect.com searches participating dealers' inventories to see who has the car with the options you want. My friend bought his 330ci that way. He's from SF but got the car from the dealer in San Jose (the one near that giant mall). I don't like BMW SF cuz they stick that stupid sticker on all their cars.
