I am looking for some 19's and was told that 19X8.5 with 45 offset for the rear's and 35 offset up front would fit perfectly. I have the sport package, but no other suspension mods as of yet.

Also, currently have 17's. What can I expect to notice in the way of the ride between the two?

I think you should be ok since the rims are not that wide. I have the same offset on my M3, but my rims are 19x10 at the rear. You will definately feel a stiffer ride moving from 17" to 19". Idealy 18" would offer a better balance between the two in terms of handling, 19" would definately look better if that is your intended goal.

BTW what rims are you getting and from where?

You will just notice a more harsh ride...the bumps will be more jarring. The steering wheel may feel a bit heavier as well. Also make sure to check your tire pressures often...every 4 weeks is the recommendation for checking tire pressures. You want to have the perfect amount of pressure as you will feel a difference in handling, even if the difference is only 2psi.
I have a questiont, though...what about your brakes? Are your brakes able to handle the increased rolling mass of the bigger wheels? Usually, when you make a significant wheel size upgrade for your car, it is recommended that you check out if your brakes will handle it okay.
