Remote Key Reset

I have a 2001 330Ci convertible ... which I really enjoy.

But ... I have had problems with the remote key operation. The remote function will stop working. I have gone to the dealer and they reset them and it worked for about 3 weeks.

Is there a way to reset without going back to the dealer everytime?

I have always heard that the dealers are the only ones with the equipment (HW/SW) to reset your keys and change key memory functions.
