I am planning on replacing front orange turning signal light bulb with clear one. I need a 12V/21W 7440 light bulb, and found a Pilot 7440 White Chrome but it's 27W.

Do you guys think it would cause any problems if I put higher waltage - 27W instead of 21W for front turning signal light?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Higher wattage runs hotter, it could potentially melt the wiring harness but in this case, it's just the turn signal which isn't always running. If I were you, I'd just go out and purchase a pair of turn signal bulbs that run at stock wattage....better safe than sorry, and turn signal bulbs are cheap.

And why would we be replacing the turn signal bulb with a clear one?? I personally like to be able to tell when another driver is going to be turning. Plus, IMO, it looks tacky. Not to mention it's illegal.

I think you should go with the Pilot 7440 Amber Chrome rather than the White Chrome. That way you retain the amber flashing (legal) but the bulb looks clear from the outside, which is what I think you are after. Not sure about heat issues but I think those signal lamps are illuminated with your headlights and parking lights.
