replacing struts 86 325

Anyone replaced thier struts? Wondering how bad it is to do in a driveway in 8 degree weather?? I hit a bump and the shock did NOT release!!! I think it is just frozen and will
let go in April. Although I like the look, it rides like a pogo stick. Of couse it has to be the
drivers side. I tried to lift the body but it is stuck down so I'm almost sure it is not the spring.
Any help would be appreciated.

I havent performed the change yet, but from what ive seen and heard, its not bad.

Hmm,

If the height has changed it is a spring issue.

Springs set the height and shocks just keep it there.

You do need a spring compressor to change strut inserts.

Well by 11:00am the ride height was back. On the way home it still rode bad enough to make me think it got stuck again but when I got home the height was still there but it is very stiff. Like the oil in the shock is frozen and I can't feel the spring it is soo stiff. I still think the springs are good. I am ordering the parts, I only wish this would have happend in November when I replaced wheel bearing to wheel bearing including the rack!!
I am going to get the strut bearing, stabilizer link and price new springs.
Any other suggestions??
