For a 2001, 33i, on the dash there are two black buttons (one left of the rev one right of the speedo). Press the left button and hold it in, then turn on the ignition. You will see the digital display show some codes. After about two seconds release the button and press it in again, again some codes will apprear. Then a third time press it in. Then your done! It will be reset.
