I am thinking of purchasing the 18" At Italia Inox for my 03' 325i sedan and have a few questions for yall. If you have an answer for any on the questions please responded thank you [???1]

1) will this mess with my odometer (counting more miles driven than actually driven)
2) is stainless steal on a rim better than chrome
3) would it be wise to buy the more expensive tire or the cheapest
4) how long is a tire life with mostly highway driving

thank you for your time
referance for the rims

1.) No, it will not mess with your odometer if you go with the proper tire/wheel size combo. TireRack will not give you any incorrect size recommendations and if you place an order that could mess up your odometer, TireRack will give you a call and let you know (basically, you would just have to take the car to your dealership and have them readjust the speedo sensor).

2.) Chrome is not a good idea for winter use. Chrome really takes a beating from salt and other crap on the road for those who experience white winters.

3.) Unfortunately, with tires, price does not necessarily mean they are better. First decide what kind of tires you want (all-seasons, performance tires, snow tires, etc.) and then look at the tires available based on your size and preference. Checkout the TireRack reviews, they are extremely helpful when making that final decision.

4.) Tires, on average, last for 30K - 36K miles. Some high-performance tires and snow tires only last for half that, unfortunately. Tread rating, driving style, the vehicle itself, and how well you maintain proper tire pressures all determine how long your tires will last.

thank you for the info... one last question the look of stainless steal will that be comperable to the look of the chrome? and will it be as durable?
Look is purely subjective. THe thing to remember is chrome wheels tend to be the heaviest. That will decrease performance. Rappers you see on TV don't care cuz they have no clue as to what their cars can do. They're more interested in looking flashy. Chrome works best cuz it's the shiniest. Not everyone likes that look though.

Chrome also requires a little more care. If you buy wheel cleaner, make sure you read the back to see if you can use it on chrome wheels.

Good point....also, the design can do u harm (imo)....for a second (and only 1 second lol) i was thinking of getting spinners....BUT i would only be insulting BMW's...BMW's are special, elegant cars, make sure u dont get no crazy wavy, design....from the chrome i've seen on bimmers, the simplest look best!
