I have a 2005 330i that makes a intermittent rumbling noise while driving. It happens when I am driving at a steady speed and it stops when I accelerate or let of the gas. The noise varies at times. I took it to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong with it. I even for a 2-3 mile ride with a tech and nothing.

I think it may be the fuel pump but I am not sure

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

The fuel pump is in the gas tank, so you would hear fuel pump noise under the rear seat.

The exhaust system and drive shaft are the main parts under the mid section. I guess it could be a heat shield, but that's usually a rattle not a rumble.

You have a two piece drive shaft, there is a center bearing in the middle of the car. If it was going bad, it would make a rumble sort of sound. But those should be good for 150,000 miles...
